We’re now receiving donations from as far away as Shetland for the Robert Louis Stevenson project.
The North Berwick Community Council and the One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Asscn plan to set up a statue of Robert and his dog Coolin in the spot where he and his friends liked to play.
We’ve even had a donation fom the Mad Hatter.
If you’re sending a cheque or postal order could you make it out to the ‘One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Asscn.’
There’s also a collecting tin in Charlie’s Cafe in the High Street where I always go for my bacon roll.
The statue would be a great tourist attraction for North Berwick as lots of people including Michael Caine do not know that the famous author spent his summer holidays here.
