The plaque unveiling went well although it was raining. Pipe Major Anderson couldn't make it but he sent his mate Scotty along to play the pipes.
I fired my cannon as Eddie McCarthy who used to fire the One o'Clock Gun unveiled the plaque. I had to be bang on time as Colonel Huthwaite the commanding officer of the regiment responsible for firing the One o'Clock Gun was watching me.
The reception was first class as Stella and Kit had made the sandwiches. Sarah Boyack MSP who always comes along to support us made a speech on the history of the clockmaking firm. Sue Thomson who owns the guest house where Frederick James Ritchie used to live brought her Mum and Dad plus her son and daughter Leo and Isabel back to the reception for a cup of tea and a sandwich.
The photograph shows Sarah and Eddie after the unveiling.

I'm not long back from holiday with Kit and John. We went up to Banff for a week. While we were taking a walk through the town I spotted a cannon standing outside the Townhouse. It looked like the one I fire to open the Association's events, so I thought I'd have a go at firing it. Unfortunately as you can see from the photo, Kit had other ideas.
