Greyfriars Bobby Memorial Day

Greyfriars Bobby Memorial Day

You’ve probably seen the newspaper reports on the Greyfriars Bobby Memorial Day ceremony. Kit’s scrapbook is bulging with cuttings.

This week’s photie taken by John, shows Brian and Sarah Anderson who comes from North Berwick at the world famous dug’s drinking fountain. Although it was tiring experience and I was fair jiggered at the end of it, I’m looking forward to next year's ceremony as 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of Eleanor Atkinson’s book.

Everybody was fairly taken with Isobel’s telling of the wee dug's tale.

We’ve already had enquiries from St. George’s School for Girls and George Heriot’s asking if Isobel, Brian and me can come along and entertain the pupils.

Brian’s still wearing his own medals in the photie, but we’ve now got a copy of the medal worn by Colour Sergeant Scott.
