Greyfriars Bobby Memorial Day went well. It was good to see so many youngsters in the kirkyard which was jam packed.
After Sarah Anderson helped me lay the wreath, Pipe Major Anderson, piped us into the Church where Ian, Cath, Stella, Leigh and Kit had prepared a first class buffet. Cath’s treacle scones and Anderson’s pies disappeared like snaw off a dyke. Isobel’s ‘Legend of Greyfriars Bobby’ is getting better and better.
How she starts singing on key without a piano is a mystery to me. She's a natural musician. They say that youngsters aren’t what they used to be, but the cadets and pupils of George Heriot’s are a credit to their school.
This week’s photie taken by the Army Press Office shows me telling Auld Jock that I’ve just laid a wreath designed by Catkins Floral Design on his wee dug’s grave.
