You may have read in the press that I've now been promoted to bombardier.
Lt. Colonel Huthwaite the commanding officer of 105th Regiment R.A. (V.) presented me with my tapes at the Mills Mount Battery, Edinburgh Castle on 4th October.
The Colonel also presented the winners of the Greyfriars Bobby Childrens Painting Competition with their certificates and book tokens to mark World Animal Day.
It was the start of a busy week as I popped in to the Royal Mile School with Brian and Kit’s sister Isobel on Wednesday to present the Legend of Greyfriars Bobby to primary seven. The teachers and the children loved the show, especially when I sang a duet with Isobel.
On Friday I was at the Nelson Monument on the Calton Hill to make sure that the Colonel dropped the time ball at one o' clock.
My next public appearance will take place on November 10th when the One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Association holds a ceremony at BUM’s statue in West Princes Street Gardens.
Hope you can make it.
