You are here Blue Lovie » About me

Blue with stripesThanks for clicking on to my site. I’d like to introduce myself. I’m a blue and tan Yorkshire Terrier called Blue as I belong to the ozomilion breed. I live with Kit and John Lovie in the sea-side town of North Berwick, twenty-five miles east of Edinburgh the capital of Scotland.

I was born on the 22nd October 1999 at Tadcastle Farm, Strathaven, Lanarkshire, Scotland. A couple of years ago, I had to undergo major surgery after snapping a main tendon (cranial cruciate ligament) in my back leg. A metal plate was inserted and after a lot of Tender loving Care from John and Kit I’m now as fit as a fiddle.

As the mascot of the One o’clock Gun and Time Ball Association, I’m kept very busy, attending events and rubbing shoulders with the city’s dignitaries. Colonel Huthwaite the commanding officer of 105th Regiment,  Royal Artillery (Volunteers) promoted me to bombardier on 4th October 2010 at Edinburgh Castle. I'm proud to wear my dark blue coat edged with red (the regimental colours of the Royal Artillery) decorated on either side with my stripes and the gold embroidered badge of the One O’Clock Gun & Time Ball Association.

I also have a cannon designed for me by John which I fire when opening events. On the 14th January every year I place a wreath of flowers on Greyfriars Bobby's grave to commemorate the death of the world famous dog in 1872. Check out the Greyfriars Bobby website: www.greyfriarsbobby.co.uk for further information.

I hope you enjoy looking at my site and if you see me in North Berwick don't forget to stop and  have a chat.
