...as we brought the good weather from North Berwick with us.
Escorted by John, his pal Derek and Isobel's better half Richard, Brian, me and the Pipe Major walked from the Scots Greys Memorial to the Floral Clock where the Lord and Lady Provost and distinguished guests including Sarah Boyack MSP, Lt. Colonel Chris Huthwaite, Roger Lockwood Chief Executive of the Northern Lighthouse Board and Delia Henry Director of Action on Hearing Loss Scotland were waiting for us.
After Shannon the Cannon fired the One o’ Clock Gun and the cuckoo popped out, Isobel explained to the crowds who were packed like sardines on the steps how the clock was set up. Tommy Robertson the Mad Hatter’s manager saved the day by nipping along to the shops and getting batteries for the sound system.
This week’s photie taken by Tommy shows Una his girlfriend, his Dad George Robertson who carved the cuckoo for the clock and his Mum Mary.
They all came back to the church at the other end of Princes Street where Kit, Ian and Cath were waiting for them with a mouth watering buffet. After having a bite to eat, David Henderson dressed as a white rabbit and his grandchildren went along to the Duke of Wellington's statue to collect donations for the North Berwick Robert Louis Stevenson project.
Thanks to the good weather a good day was had by all.
